Martin is a joint owner and head Strength and Conditioning coach at FCPC. He has been in the fitness industry since 2006 when he qualified as a Royal Marines Physical Training Instructor, a course which is highly reguarded as being one of the leading courses in Strength, Conditioning and Sports coaching in the world as well as being possibly the most physically demanding course on the planet! In 2008 Martin completed the prestigious and extremely “in depth” Exercise rehabilitation Instructors course at Headley court and subsequently worked for 2 years rehabilitating Royal Marines who had been injured during Combat operations or on Training exercises. Martin’s training is all based on getting results! Utilising training methods that are functional, interesting and proven to work, in both a training envioronment and in professional competition. From Kettlebells and Sand bags to Squat racks and Plyometrics, Martin designs, implements and recocrds his training programmes to ensure that every client reaches their full potential. Martin specialises in Combat sports conditioning and has worked with many professional Mixed Martial Arts fighters as well as Pro Boxers, Pro Rugby players, Footballers, Netballers, Swimmers, Close protection operatives and Bodyguards, however with his diverse background in Sports Specific Training and an in depth knowledge of physiology Martin can cater for any sport. Anyone is welcome to be trained by Martin from absolute beginners wanting to get in shape to Proffesional athletes who strive to reach the next level of conditioning. Martin, along with David Hodkinson and Andy Tyson also design specific training programmes for people joining the military, fire service or police. We use our on-site assault courses to get you in peak physical condition and challenge you mentally to achieve the strength of mind needed to become one of Britains elite. Combat sports profile Martin has trained in all aspects of MMA since 2004 and has been competing Proffesionally since 2007. During his career he has amassed a 7-1 Proffesional record, winning 2 British Titles en route! In 2009 Martin was selected to represent Team UK on the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter season 9. Martin enjoyed and learned from the experience but is keen to look to the future as he pushes himself to become one of the best fighters in the world. From 2008 to 2010 Martin played a major role in constructing the new Royal Marines Close Combat syllabus which now teaches all Royal Marines Commandos hand to hand combat from the standing position down to groundwork in a realistic operational environment, including weapons training/disarms.
